We’ve got a few interesting Pokemon rumors to share with you today. Let’s get started!
Game Freak Hacker Reveals Gen 10 and Z-A Platforms
The hacker responsible for the 2024 Game Freak leaks is now providing some new details that could confirm a Nintendo Switch 2 version of both Pokemon Legends Z-A and the unannounced Gen 10 Pokemon games.
The hacker states they found folders for Ikkaku and Gaia, the development codenames for Z-A and Gen 10, alongside Ounce folders (the supposed internal codename of the Switch 2). The folders were dubbed Super Ikkaku and Super Gaia, which strongly hints at an enhanced version for Nintendo’s new system.
This is a rumor for now, but stay tuned to NintendoUp for updates.
Pokemon Presents Will Only Feature OG Switch Games
Despite Switch 2 versions apparently in the works, Jeff Grub (an industry insider) has said that the upcoming Pokemon Presents in February will only focus on the original Nintendo Switch.
I did hear that everything in that Pokémon Direct will be positioned as ‘These games are Switch 1 games’. They will work on Switch 2, but there will not be anything that is obviously made for Switch 2.
Whether or not this means there won’t be a Switch 2 version of Z-A remains uncertain. Perhaps the Switch 2 will feature enhancements via backwards compatibility. We’ll find out soon enough!
The same hacker from the first story is also sharing information on the Z-A starter Pokemon. Apparently, the game will use a random collection of older starter Pokemon, and will not feature new Pokemon as starters or a static set of older starters.

There was a theory that the game would use the Pokemon X and Y starter Pokemon, but this new rumor seems to contradict that.
Bonus: Scarlet & Violet Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Coming
This isn’t a rumor, but I don’t believe it warrants a separate post.
The popular expansion set for the Pokemon Trading Card Game (Violet & Scarlet Prismatic Evolutions) is getting a reprint soon:
