Nintendo of Europe has revealed the new design for Diddy Kong in a rather nonchalant way. This news brings with it some hope that Donkey’s little buddy will return for DK Bananza.
On the Nintendo Switch News feed, a small blurb was posted promoting games featuring Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. The image featured just happened to casually unveil the new design for Diddy Kong.

It may be hard to notice compared to Donkey, but Diddy is indeed different. While NintendoUp! doesn’t like the new Donkey Kong design, we’re cool with this Diddy design so far. Changes are minimal and basically just make him more cartoonish—but not to a ridiculous degree like Donkey Kong and his weird tongue.

Small Changes
In terms of changes, Diddy’s ears are smaller than before, his stomach has a more pronounced bulge, and his toes have been shortened. Additionally, his fingers and toes now feature detailed, realistic nails. A slim set of teeth is also visible in his gums.
