A common theme with the Switch 2 is overpriced price gouging. One more example is that Nintendo are expecting users to pay for their new system walkthrough application (or “game”), the Welcome Tour.
This application will give you Wikipedia-like information about the Switch 2 console. It’ll also feature interactive experiences and shine a light on Switch 2 secrets. There will be some mini-games to showcase all the tech found in the Switch 2 console like HD Rumble 2 and the mouse controls for the Joy-Con controllers.
In other news, Reggie Fils-Aime doesn’t work for Nintendo anymore, and this is proof of that. Reggie fought for Wii Sports to be a pack-in game in North America, and this is also something he would’ve almost assuredly fought to make free as well.
I can’t imagine anyone paying for this (except me, because I run a Nintendo fansite and need to cover it). It would’ve been a nice way to lessen the sting of the $449.99 USD console price tag, but we can’t have nice things.
The thing launches on June 5th for 990 yen (maybe $10 USD).
