Nintendo has issued a statement to the Japanese publication Sankei, noting that the “videos and images” coming from CES 2025 are “not official.” However, the company doesn’t say anything more than that. We already know the unit that accessory maker Genki was showing off was a dummy model, so this news doesn’t really change anything.
Nintendo’s statement doesn’t deny any of the information or facts reported by Genki or others. Instead, the company’s statement is vague and obvious, to the point it’s almost useless. Still, to repeat: yeah, nothing is official until Nintendo finally gets off their Koopa shells and announces something…y’know, officially.
We should learn more about the Switch 2 later in the month (or not, with how slow Nintendo is being).
