A brand-new, nearly complete build of the Wii version of Radical Front’s cancelled Star Wars Battlefront 3 game has been unearthed, and the build is now available for download.
Footage of this incredible find has been shared on YouTube by modder iamshaymin. Based on the video, the build is dated just over a week before the game was abruptly canceled. It is “potentially the last Wii build of the game.”
The footage is a recreation of the November 2008 trailer created by the group Free Radical Archive. This trailer was intended to serve as a showcase of the “final” Wii build of the game.
While previous discoveries of footage and other builds have been made, this one stands out as the most extensive and revealing. It contains a wealth of content that has never been seen before.
The game was in development between 2006 to 2008 and was “99%” done before the game was tragically cancelled. Based on the footage, it does indeed look like a finished product. The developer unfortunately filed for bankruptcy in late 2008 and was later purchased by Crytek, then re-established under Deep Silver in 2021 until their demise in late 2023.
Will you be giving this build of the game a play? Let me know in the comments.
