True to their word, accessory maker Genki is showing off their Switch 2 accessories and a “dummy model” at their CES 2025 booth in Las Vegas, Nevada. Check out the images below.
The German publication Netzwelt reported on their experience with a dummy model of the Switch 2 at CES. While this prototype wasn’t part of the public exhibit, it was used by Genki to showcase their accessories and upcoming products to prospective customers.
Genki confirmed that the dimensions of the dummy are identical to the actual Switch 2 and that basic features, such as detaching the Joy-Cons, function similarly to the finalized console. The company also announced plans to release various products for the Switch 2, including a dock and controllers.
Netzwelt highlighted that the dummy model feels noticeably larger in hand and compared its size to the Lenovo Legion Go. They observed that the Joy-Cons on the dummy can be removed and placed side by side without the upward motion typical of previous models.
Interestingly, the Joy-Cons don’t attach magnetically to the dummy, indicating that the final design may feature a mechanical locking system for the controllers.
The publication also noted an additional, unlabeled button on the right Joy-Con. They speculate this could be the new C-button.
We’ll likely get an official announcement any day now from Nintendo.
