Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition just dropped on Switch to rave reviews. Unfortunately, the game is 200+ hours long and NintendoUp didn’t receive an early review copy, so by the time we get around to completing the game and reviewing it, the April 2nd Nintendo Direct will already be here and everybody will have moved on. (Thanks, Nintendo).
Anyway…one of my complaints about the game was that it launched so close to the Switch 2, begging the question why they couldn’t release the title for the next Switch instead with further enhancements. Fortunately, it now looks like that may be happening.
X user MasaGratoR has discovered the game has a hidden 60 FPS mode. While it doesn’t work well on the original Switch, it has led to speculation that the successor console will be making full use of this hidden mode.
I guess we’ll find out soon enough–maybe on April 2nd, 2025 when Nintendo holds their long-awaited Switch 2 direct.
