UPDATE: Potential dimensions for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been revealed, shared by dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz, who claims they are based on a “3D scan of the actual hardware.”
According to Ijaz, the measurements for the Switch 2 are below:
- Width (with Joy-Con): 270mm
- Width (without Joy-Con): 200mm
- Height: 116mm
- Thickness: 14mm
For comparison, the current Switch OLED model has these dimensions:
- Width (with Joy-Con): 242mm
- Height: 102mm
- Thickness: 13.9mm
Ijaz also mentioned that the Joy-Con controllers may attach magnetically to the console, aligning with earlier reports. Dbrand is confident enough in this design that their Switch 2 case will allow the Joy-Con to be removed without detaching the console from the case.
Additionally, Ijaz noted the presence of a square button located beneath the Home button, labeled with the letter “C.” However, its functionality remains unclear. Thanks to The Verge for this update.
Original Story:
Dbrand’s CEO may have just confirmed the Switch 2 will look almost the same as the original Switch by revealing the device inside their Switch 2 case is actually the real Nintendo Switch 2. The Canadian peripheral manufacturer is known for publicity stunts, but this could indeed be legit.
If these are legit pictures, there’s not much to talk about, is there? The Switch 2 may be the first next-generation Nintendo console that looks near identical to their last-gen system (no, the Wii U wasn’t this close to the original Wii). At this point, like most people, I just want an official announcement.
This should hopefully prompt Nintendo to hurry up and reveal their next console sooner rather than later.
If true, do you think Nintendo’s lawyers will be having a stern talk with dbrand? Or maybe a stern lawsuit?
