Retailer Newegg recently (and briefly) listed a Nintendo eShop gift card with a strange description. The description mentioned a “3D Mario” and “Legend of Zelda remake/remaster” along with the previously announced new Mario Kart game.
While it’s hardly surprising a new 3D Mario game would be coming to the Switch 2—after all, Odyssey released nearly a decade ago—the more interesting tidbit here is a potential Zelda remake.
A Link to the Past
Personally, I would love a remake of any of the Nintendo 64 or GameCube Zelda games. I am not liking the recent direction for Zelda, and Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are what made me such a big fan of video games.
Sadly, Newegg removed mention of this potential Zelda remake from their listing. That could potentially indicate it was a mistake, or that Nintendo asked them to remove it.
Nintendo Direct Reveal?
Hopefully, Nintendo will announce both of these games on the Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2nd, 2025. That’s a long ways off, but we can wait…
We don’t need it now…
