Nintendo Music is a decent app for fans of the company’s iconic soundtracks, but currently, a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to use it.
That policy is set to change a little this October. According to an official customer support update, Nintendo is planning an update around then that will allow users to access certain features of the app even after their subscription has ended. These include the ability to edit, share, and delete playlists.
Here’s the official statement from Nintendo:
Nintendo
We are planning an update around October 2025 that will allow you to use some Nintendo Music functions, such as the ability to edit, share, or delete your playlists, even after you cancel your Nintendo Switch Online membership.
This announcement comes shortly after the app received a fresh update, adding 23 tracks from Kirby and the Forgotten Land (not the full soundtrack, mind you…only a portion). Nintendo confirmed that the rest of the game’s soundtrack will be added to the service later on in the year.
