There are a number of new toys and other Nintendo merch you can purchase if you live in Japan or plan to visit sometime in the future. While Japan as a country has a number of problems (like any other nation), exclusive Nintendo products ain’t one of them. If only they changed their currency from yen to Nintendo toys…well, anyway, let’s get on with it!
M-Mario!? …No, It’s a Luigi’s Mansion Toy
First up, we have an amusing new Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon toy (or Luigi’s Mansion 2, if you prefer). This toy will soon be out in Japan as a crane game prize beginning December 21st, 2024. The toy has a light on the front of the vacuum head and annoys plays you 5 unique sounds from the game. Yes, prepare for a “M-Mario?!” sound clip.
New Animal Crossing Plush Toys
Next up, Japan residents and visitors can now purchase new San-Ei Boeki Animal Crossing ALL STAR COLLECTION plush toys. While this series has existed for quite a while, the line now includes Sasha, Goldie, and Stiches. They’re ~$16 USD each and are available today.
New Pokemon Merch Galore
The Pokemon Company has unveiled a new lineup of merchandise featuring dog Pokemon. The line is called “My Little Bestie” and will launch January 11th, 2025 at Pokemon Center stores throughout Japan (and believe me, there are many of them). You can get your hands on Lilipup, Growlithe, Yamper, Rockruff, and Fidough plush toys, among some other merchandise you can view below (source).
…Oh, you thought we were done with Pokemon? Not quite!
This next line is titled “P’atelier by Pokemon Center” and will likewise launch at Pokemon Centers in Japan on January 17th, 2025. It features designs inspired by the Kanto region from Pokemon Blue, Red, and Japan’s Green versions. There’s a ton of merchandise in this collection, so peruse the gallery below (source).
Mario Kart Races to the Finish
Finally, you can get some new Mario Kart toys from Takara Tomy’s Drift Tomica line with 3 new pieces. The first, a Variety Stage Set includes many possibilities for playing with the karts. The second is a Toad kart, and the third is a Peach kart. Take a look at these babies below.
