With the reveal of the Switch 2, you might think rumors and leaks would start to die off. However, maybe that’s not the case.
In the Switch 2 reveal trailer, it was revealed there would be a Nintendo Direct on April 2nd, 2025. You’ll notice that’s 3 months away, which is a rather long time to be left hanging. That poses the question of what Nintendo will be doing in the meantime.
If insider predictions are accurate, we may already have an idea. In the same podcast episode where NateTheHate disclosed the date for the Switch 2 reveal trailer, he also mentioned a potential Nintendo Direct focusing on original Switch titles coming in February. Supporting this claim, Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe recently commented on Famiboards, stating that “the February Direct is just around the corner.”
Additionally, February is often the time for a Pokémon Presents presentation, making it plausible that Nintendo opted to hold off on the Switch 2 Direct until April to accommodate other announcements. A combination of a Switch 1-focused Direct and a Pokémon Presents could make the wait for April more manageable for fans.

What do you think? Do you still care about your original Switch? Given that it’s backwards compatible, I suppose it doesn’t hurt to release more games on the first Switch.
