Another day, another avalanche of Switch 2 rumors. This Switch 2 Rumor Roundup will collect all the most interesting Switch 2 rumors and leaks of today and compile them into one convenient post. Let’s get started!
PS5 Pro Leaker Suggests January 17th Reveal, March Launch
Average Lucia Fanatic has a solid track record of being right. He predicted the PS5 Pro and Alarmo launch dates. He states the console will retail for $400 (in Canada) and launch March 3rd with Mario Kart 9 and Red Dead Redemption 2. According to him, we’ll also finally get an announcement trailer for a new 3D Mario game (yes!).
Final Fantasy VII Remakes, Halo & Flight Simulator Coming
As far as rumors go, this one is believable. Leaker NateTheHate shared a new video earlier today, revealing that four major titles are reportedly heading to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to his claims, the games include Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
He also noted projected release windows for the latter two, with Remake expected in 2025 and Rebirth following in 2026. All of this sounds believable, especially considering Microsoft loves to promote the idea of Xbox games on non-Xbox consoles.
However, these may not be the only significant games on the way. When Jez Corden, an Xbox-focused journalist and industry insider, was informed by a fan about NateTheHate’s mention of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator for the Switch 2, Corden responded that there would be “way more than that.”
Should we ready our wallets for a surge of Xbox games?
Console Trailer First, then Full Reveal Later
Andy Robinson from VGC is claiming Nintendo will first reveal the console in a trailer (much like the original Switch), then fully reveal it at a later date (just like the original Switch). That’s pretty much it to this rumor, and it sounds about right.
More Switch 2 Renders
We previously posted this render of the Switch 2 console, but here are some more to get you excited about Nintendo’s next console.
Switch 2 Retail Game Boxes Larger Than Originals
According to ‘Necro’ Felipe, the Switch 2 game boxes will be bigger than the original Switch’s game boxes. Check out the size comparison below.
Nintendo’s Switch 2 Plans “Haven’t Changed”
Even though the ship is sinking fast with so many leaks, according to former Kinda Funny Games presenter Imran Khan, Nintendo will not be changing its launch strategy.
As far as I know, they’re finding a lot of stuff floating around to be funny. Plans have not changed.
Well, I’m glad someone is laughing at all the rumors I need to post.
That’s all for the Switch 2 Rumor Roundup for now! We’ll update this post if we missed any rumors that were shared around the Internet today.
