We’re not fans of rumors here at NintendoUp (unless we’re the source, perhaps) but these new rumors seem reasonable enough. NateDrake, a known rumor-monger in the video game world, has stated on a podcast that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed between late-January 2025 to early February.
He also thinks there will be another event for the Switch 2 in May 2025, so the console will be targeting a late May to June release date. OK, nothing crazy so far.
In addition, the same guy also thinks that Kirby: Planet Robobot will be ported to the current Switch. That’s not a shocker either, given that Luigi’s Mansion 2 (formerly Dark Moon), another 3DS game, was ported to the Switch in June this year. Of course, the “leaker” doesn’t share if the port will contain any new features or if it’ll just be a standard HD port.
The NintendoUpside
I adored Kirby: Planet Robobot. It’s my second favorite Kirby game next to the Switch’s excellent Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I won’t be complaining if they port Robobot and give it some extra levels.
As for the Switch 2 release date rumor…meh. We’ll all find out within a month or two, so I’m not bothered by these rumors.
What’s your take on all this? Do you believe it?
