Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the 2020 Nintendo Switch version of the long-running life sim has reached 8 million physical units sold in the land of the rising sun. That surpasses the previous record of 7.93 million units sold by Pokemon Red and Green for the Game Boy back in 1996.
I didn’t much care for New Horizons, with the “original” GameCube version still being the best (which was an enhanced upgrade of the Nintendo 64 game exclusive to Japan). Hopefully, the Switch 2 will have an Animal Crossing game worthy of the best-selling physical game ever in Japan.
